Sarah Palin has accused Barack Obama of cavorting not just with terrorist, but home grown terrorists. They are worst of all, because it is implied that anyone could become one. Just like McCain has one foot in the grave, it feels as if Palin believes Obama is just one step removed from actually being a home grown terrorist. This is just the latest installment in the ongoing, “Who loves America most, and best” argument. And therefore should pass as soon as someone forgets to wear the flag at the right occasion or wear it for the wrong occasion.
Apparently the core McCain/Palin supporters and major party contributors had told Palin to stop pulling her punches, so an aid told Palin, “Sarah, the gloves are off, the heels are on, go get to them.” I think there are a number of things Sarah Palin doesn’t realize, but I did think she knew that the public saw her as a follower just basically reading out somebody else’s script. So why not at least have some guts and say it was all her idea?
Well, probably mainly because it wasn’t. She didn’t break the story, she just made the most colored interpretation outside of US partisan advertising. And, I suppose, Palin isn’t stupid enough to take credit for an interpretation she didn’t make first, and which is discredited immediately by anyone who bothers to read the facts about the relationship Barack Obama has with William Ayers.
Anyway, this is clearly the McCain/Palin camps most desperate attempt, if it had been a TV show we would have called this act, “Jumping the Shark”.
