GOP, a.k.a the Republican party, did not fare well in this years elections. Lost the White House, and lost majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Could it be that this Grand Old Party is just that? Old?

Young Republicans are already working to get the party a new start. A fresh start, like the one that won the Democrats so many votes. Inspired by how Barack Obama used the Internet to win the election, a surge of ideology and technology, often from within Democratic heartlands, has been launched by young Republicans. Blogs are being written, social networking sites are being targeted and email is now the preferred mode of contact. The overall aim is to broaden the base of the Republican party and once again ensure its relevance as a national party. No one disputes that the Republican party needs a make over, and this seems like the perfect one. GOP desperately needs young people to believe in their values and to get involved in their politics. Long gone are the days when NRA and the tobacco industry called the shots, at least on a grass root level. We might have to wait a little bit longer for the young voices to reach all the way to the top, but this is at least a start.
