Caroline Kennedy will learn this week if she will be selected to replace Hillary Clinton in the US Senate. Her long weeks of lobbying now over, but her campaign has not been without hiccups. Now Sarah Palin is throwing in her 2 cents, for anyone that will listen.
Palin is wondering if this might be ‘class issue’ – a name as close to royalty as the US have ever come compared to a housewife from Alaska. The fact that the US press have given Kennedy some bad press doesn’t seem to satisfy the former VP candidate, she feels Kennedy deserves the same pounding as she got. Palin is forgetting one crucial point; if Caroline Kennedy is to replace Clinton, she is only serving in the Senate. She is not next in line for the presidency! Surely that deserves a little more scrutiny than a senate post?
Caroline Kennedy lacks experience and Washington contacts, and Sarah Palin is not the only one who disputes her candidacy. But she is the only one who wants the press to attack her some more, because she feels hard done by herself.
Now it would be a disgrace if Kennedy was chosen over the other candidates with the experience and the know-how, but not because Mrs. Palin thinks so.
