Sarah Palin exit as governor of Alaska came as a surprise. Even to her staff and some family members; she didn’t tell her brother. Her more erratic press conference on Friday revealed little – she did not say she was out of politics for good and she did not say she is leaving Alaska so she can concentrate on the 2012 elections. Her motivations are so far unknown, and that to me is worrying. She seems to still be the darling as far as the GOP is concerned, and could easily be their favourite to run against Obama in 3 years time. What is Palin up to now?

Why I miss Sarah Palin.
The current news are all just doom and gloom over the world’s financial crisis. Recession, unemployment, bankruptcies and home repossessions – it is all just a tad too serious. So was the American presidential election, but Sarah Palin made it fun! Not deliberately, of course, but every morning I would wake up and read something said or done that would tickle me, and make my day. Why I miss Sarah Palin.
Obama is bigger than Jesus.
2634 Americans was asked who they admired enough to call a hero. President Obama came out on top, with Jesus in second place. This interactive Harris poll is heavy with politicians, and comes up with quite a spread. Obama in the top spot, Jesus in second and coming up in fifth place is none other than George W. Bush. God doesn’t even make the top ten, but having to make do with an 11th place. I guess action, and lots of it, speaks louder than words. Obama is bigger than Jesus.
Palin jealous of Caroline Kennedy?
Caroline Kennedy will learn this week if she will be selected to replace Hillary Clinton in the US Senate. Her long weeks of lobbying now over, but her campaign has not been without hiccups. Now Sarah Palin is throwing in her 2 cents, for anyone that will listen. Palin jealous of Caroline Kennedy?
Phew!
The future of America, and indeed also the world, looks a whole lot brighter after Barack Obama is elected as the 44th president. Thankfully, the election night didn’t offer us any excitement as it became clear early on that McCain didn’t really stand a chance against Obama, who has received high praise for his well-run campaign. Phew!
Why it must be nice to be friends with Sarah Palin
It must be very nice to be friends with Sarah Palin, as she apperently go to the greatest possible length to be a very good friend.
First National Enquirer dropped a bomb by claiming, that Sarah Palin had an affair with her husbands business partner and good friend.
In a Danish newpaper, a reader, who commented on National Enquirer´s accusations, stated that he very much wanted to do business with Sarah Palin´s husband, if Sarah Palin´s way of caring for her husband´s business partners is that good.
Now she has also been accused of nepotism as it is claimed in The New York Times, that she has given top posts to some of her personal friends and in account has made sure, that they get a much better salary than they would have gotten, if thay had been emplyed in the private sector.
On the other hand, you don´t want to get under Sarah Palin´s feet as that mistake apperently can cost you your job according to the story about Sarah Palin getting her former brother-in-law fired from his job as a police officer.
Maybe some of theese stories turn out to be a hoax. Still, the stories keep rolling, and the Sarah Palin farce is only being reinforced by Sarah Palin´s own self-representation as a woman who believes strongly in Christian values. Maybe she has a special edition of the Bible?
Do pigs wear lipstick?
A pig wearing lipstick is stil a pig!…
The immediaete thougt that crossed my mind after reading this was; Well, what else would it be, but a pig?… At most a painted pig, I guess. Do pigs even at all wear lipstick except from Miss Piggy?
I simply do not get, why the Republicans want to make such a big fuzz out of Barack Obama´s lipstick metaphor. Of course it could obviously be understood as an anwer to Sarah Palin´s hockey mother vs. pittbull metaphor. But so what? Wouldn´t their time be spend better by hiring a communications expert to teach Sarah Palin eloquence and thereby learn to be able to avoid, that her own words fall back on her?
Actually I find it out of place when politicians use bad metaphors like the hockey mother vs. pittbull metaphor. The electors are better off with politicians that speak their minds and do not wrap up their messages and political statements in useless puns or idle talk.
Metaphors and other verbal decoration can be used appropriate when you want to give your words cogency or make something abstarct become visible, and thereby leave a mark in the minds of your audience.
Sarah Palin´s hockey mother vs. pittbull metaphor has gotten a lot of attention now and will be remembered for a long time. But not because it was a good metaphor, because it really wasn´t, but because of Obama´s metaphor of pigs wearing lipstick. So maybe the Republicans should thank Obama for that instead of working themselves all up about it.
What to do with Sarah Palin?
The Internet is a powerfull tool when it comes to distributing information to a large public world-wide and within a minimum of time.
This rapid distribution of information has in co-operation with the other mass media within a short period of time caused the Republican running mate Sarah Palin´s credibility and moral character to be called in question.
I have read, that Sarah Palin is now apparently the female, whose name is the most searched for at Google world-wide and that interest in getting to know information about her can mainly be put down to the many accusations of bad moral standards, that have sprung up as many sceletons in the closet have been revealed in the investigation of Sarah Palin´s past and personal life: her teenage daughter is pregnant, her son has been involved in drug crime, accusations of both infidelity and corruption, dishonesty regarding support to Alaska´s secession from The United States of America, etc.
But how shall the electors evaluate this revelation of Sarah Palin´s character? Does Sarah Palin with her apperently unstable private life simply represent human errors people can relate to and sympathize with as long as she strives to improve and be a hard-working politician? Or is her moral character so corrupted, that she is not worthy of representing an American ideal and make strong and vital decisions on behalf of the American people?
In my opinion, it seems like there is just too much of a hipocritic gap between talk and actions for Sarah Palin. But I am very curious to know, how the American elector sees her.
