The future of America, and indeed also the world, looks a whole lot brighter after Barack Obama is elected as the 44th president. Thankfully, the election night didn’t offer us any excitement as it became clear early on that McCain didn’t really stand a chance against Obama, who has received high praise for his well-run campaign. Phew!
Why didn’t Barack Obama choose Hillary Clinton as his running mate? Was he perhaps concerned that he himself was enough of a controversy for the Democratic campaign? That running for the White House with a woman might not calm the God fearing Americans who wouldn’t dream of voting for a black man with a foreign-sounding name unless he had a middle-aged white man standing next to him?
