The third and final presidential candidate debate was held yesterday in Hempstead, New York. Barack Obama was pronounced a clear winner, mostly because he has held the same mild manner throughout the debates and his own campaign. John McCain lost because he hasn’t.

We’ve seen a new side to John McCain at the three different debates. At the first one he was the arrogant one, during the second he was a man of the people, and last night he was the whining one. McCain tried to argue that Obama was the one running a dirty campaign, although the polls show that McCain is trailing due to his negative tactics. In addition to his oral whining, the format of last night’s campaign didn’t do much for McCain. The candidates were sitting behind desks and the fact that McCain was making faces, rolling his eyes and grumpy expressions didn’t do him any favours. Far from it. This doesn’t look good on a potential leader, as we have clearly seen in the current one.

Obama, on the other hand, kept a steady ship. He is cool and collected; almost too cool sometimes. The format of yesterdays debate didn’t suit him particularly well either, he performs best when he can move around and interact with the audience, but the warmed up a bit at the end.

This was John McCain’s last chance. He needed to show America that he can stand up and be a consistent leader, and he failed miserably.
