They tried to keep it low key, but soon enough, the world heard about Barack Obama’s meeting with Hillary Clinton in Chicago. It came as no surprise as he would have been mad not to ask her to join his administration, with her experience and good bipartisan relationships. Hillary Clinton has extensive foreign policy experience both from her time in the Senate and from being a former First Lady.

So what did he offer her? The hot tip is that she was asked to be his Secretary of State – the top U.S diplomat job. But apparently she is not the only one Obama has talked to regarding the post. He has also had talks with the Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson.

But Hillary Clinton seems to be the Democrats favorite. Byron Dorgan, a Democratic senator from North Dakota, said that she would be ‘an excellent choice, she would have instant credibility around the world.’ This is important as he continued to say that the U.S has a lot of relationships to repair.

From the other side, Republican senator Jon Kyl would not predict that Clinton would win Senate confirmation, but he thought she would be well received around the world.
