So it’s official. Barack Obama has named Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State, making the worst kept secret in current US politics public. And he really couldn’t have picked anyone else, could he. She has it all; experience, connections and the know-how. Great news for the US and for the rest of the world. No surprise I am an avid supporter of Hillary, I just don’t know why.

I don’t particularly like the way she speaks in public, and she has a constant look of slight madness about her. But what I do like is her drive, her goals and her values. And her husband! But he is not the reason why I believe she will be a great secretary of state, that is because of her values. I believe she will keep America’s best interest at heart, but I believe she will also keep the worlds best interests at heart, because they are, in truth, inseparable. Condi Rice hasn’t done a bad job, but with a different boss I believe she could have done a great job. She and I don’t share the same values, but I admire her work ethic and her stamina, and I believe Hillary will bring these qualities as well.
So we should really rejoice. Barack Obama as president, Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State and a Democratic majority in both houses. What can possibly go wrong…?
